Karen McCarthy, Owner/Head Trainer
Karen McCarthy has over 30 years of riding and training experience working throughout the industry across the globe.
Her experience ranges from untrained “youngsters” to European Champion caliber talent. She has numerous awards and distinctions including being a three-time member of the Irish International Team. She trained and competed across North America, Europe and Australia before establishing Kilkern Farm in 2009.
Liam Hough, Consulting Trainer
Liam Hough is a competitive international showjumper and respected equestrian trainer known for his sharp eye for talent, calm horsemanship, and proven ability to develop both horses and riders to elite levels. Born and trained in Ireland, Liam brings a rich heritage of Irish riding tradition combined with modern coaching strategies and an educational background in elementary school education.
His career highlights include being selected as winner of a prestigious Irish National Bursary from a group of talented young riders, producing horses from novice to Grand Prix level and coaching amateur and junior riders toward national success.
